Het deurknopfenomeen…In de medische wereld maar al te vertrouwd. Het dossier kan dicht. De patiënt is al bijna buiten de spreekkamer. En dan ineens – met de deurknop in de hand- komt er een onthulling. Een vraagstelling van belang soms, waarbij de oorspronkelijke klacht verbleekt. Ook in andere opzichten speelt de deurknop een belangrijk rol. Als schakel in een keten. Daarbij moeten we denken aan de transmissie van micro-organismen. Zeker, bij de schoonmaak wordt de deurknop gewoonlijk niet overgeslagen. Maar is dat huishoudelijk reinigen afdoende?
Hygiene
Geblindeerd
Alleen een officieel, genormeerd en gevalideerd onderzoek door een betrouwbaar bureau kan daarover uitsluitsel geven. Zie de resultaten van dit geblindeerd onderzoek door Bureau de Wit (BdW) uit Almere (2010). Daarbij zijn deurkrukken al dan niet behandeld voor gebruik. De behandeling is divers. De geblindeerde genummerde (linkerkolom) monsters zijn geanalyseerd op Kiemgetal. In de meest rechtse kolom op de horizontale lijn staan de bijbehorende uitslagen. Midden is het normgetal waaronder het Kiemgetal zou moeten liggen in een hygienische situatie.
Bevindingen
Resultaten
De uitslagen in rood (monsters 2501, 2502, 2505 en 2511) blijken te zijn afgenomen van deurkrukken die zijn voorbehandeld met Environ X (TiO2). De monsters 2504 en 2510 komen van deurkrukken zonder voorbehandeling. Bij monsters 2503, 2506, 2508 en 2509 is andere coating toegepast. De uitslag van 2509 is binnen de norm. De conclusie mag zijn dat Environ X uitermate effectief en superieur is, zeker als in aanmerking genomen wordt dat er (mondelinge mededeling) bij de bemonstering 2011 iets niet goed is gegaan. Resumerend is aannemelijk gemaakt dat contactoverdracht van micro-organismen via de deurkruk effectief kan worden voorkomen door de toepassing van Nanocoating in de vorm van Environ X. In een ketenaanpak iets om in de oren te knopen!
